Nous voilà déjà rendu au 31 décembre. Nous sommes encore vivants. La fin du monde n'est pas venue le 21 décembre, tel que prédit par les Mayas. Je n'y ai jamais cru et nous sommes à tourner la page sur une autre année. Avec les amis et la famille.
En 2012, nous avons ramené notre événement estival, le EXO Fest. Plus orienté vers le métal pour cette édition, mais des changements sont au programme pour 2013 et les années à venir. Cet été, nous avons tenu des événements de skate à chaque semaine de juillet (VitaminSkate) et août (Tu skates août?). Un franc succès! On adore voir autant de gens qui skate encore.
En plus du skate, on ne peut pas passer à côté de tous les concerts que nous avons commandités ou fait la promotion. De Ghostface Killah, Raekwon et Inspectah Deck au Flatliners, Dance Laury Dance, The Hunters, Make Do and Mend et le festival Envol & Macadam (et tous les autres qu'on pourrait avoir oublié de nommer). Nous avons trippé et nous espérons que vous aussi, autant que nous!
Notre skatepark intérieur a eu droit à un rajeunissement. L'addition de quelques obstacles et le remplacement du recouvrement de bois du plancher.
En juillet dernier se tenait le Make It Count Element, présenté pour la première fois à Québec. Notre rider JO Daigle a remporté l'événement au Skate Plaza et s'est rendu en Californie, toutes dépenses payées, pour la finale. Nous avons aussi commencé à filmer le prochain film de skate EXO. Ce dernier devrait sortir au courant de 2013 ou pour le 25e anniversaire de la boutique en 2014.
Rien ne nous rend plus heureux que de vous voir à la boutique et pouvoir vous aider! Du fond du coeur, on vous souhaite une super soirée et une très heureuse nouvelle année. Well it’s December 31st and we are still all here, the world did not end on the 21st as the Mayans predicted. I never believed them and I knew from the get go we would all be today ready to close in on 2012 and ring in the new year with our friends and family.
2012 saw us bring back our marquee summer event, the EXO FEST, this past August. It may have been a Metal-orientated Fest this year, but EXO FEST 2012 was a stepping stone to what we will be doing in 2013 and the many years after. Also this summer we held skate events every week from July (VITAMIN SK8 TOUR) to the end of august (TU SKATE AOUT) and they were a blast, it’s great to see so many people are still skating and to see that vibe all summer long, there can’t be anything sweeter than that!
We can’t have an end of year review without looking back at all the concerts we sponsored and helped promote... From Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, and Inspectah Deck to the Flatliners, Dance Laury Dance, The Hunters, the Envol & Macadam music festival (and all the other shows and events I might have forgotten). All these show and events were a blast to be a part of and all I hope is that all of you had the time of your lives as well. Our indoor skatepark got a nice pimpin’ as well this year with the addition of new obstacles like a brand new stair set, a rail beside it and brand new wood panels on all skateable surfaces.
This past July we also held for the first time in Quebec City, ELEMENT’S MAKE IT COUNT skateboard contest at the plaza, our team rider JO Daigle won the showdown and was sent to California all-expense paid for the Make it Count Final. We also began filming for our next full length skate video which will be released sometime in 2013 or for our 25th anniversary in 2014.
There are so many year-end reviews going on around right now and the last thing we want ours to be is a marketing scheme or an advertisement! But at the end of the day we are a skate shop and music store…
Nothing makes us happier than seeing your faces in the store and helping all of you guys out! So from the bottom of our hearts we wish you all an amazing night, a happy new year… So we’d like to thank all of our customers, friends, and family for your continued support in 2012 and may the best be with you in 2013
